Creamy Alfredo Sauce with Garlic Shrimp

Creamy Alfredo Pasta is one of my all-time favorite meals. However, it’s best enjoyed as an occasional treat – for reasons that are apparent when you view the ingredient list!
Regardless, when I want a “special” meal, this is usually my dish. Not only is it absolutely delectable, you can’t go wrong with the simple preparation! And, the elegant presentation and out-of-this-world taste make it a natural choice when looking for a memorable entree to serve guests.
Everything about this alfredo is just right: the texture is thick but silky-smooth, the garlic is noticeable but not overpowering, and the cheeses add depth you won’t find in commercially-produced sauces.
Because the sauce is so rich, I like it best paired with seafood. I usually saute shrimp in butter and garlic, and then serve it with the sauce over pasta. Lobster or scallops would also make fine selections. Add some ciabatta bread and white wine and you have one savory and satisfying meal!

Reduce heat; add Parmesan cheese and simmer sauce for 8-10 minutes or until thickened and smooth.
Add mozzarella cheese and stir until smooth.
